Why is there no picture when the HUB is connected to the HDMI display?

When connecting an HDMI display via a USB-C HUB, the laptop’s USB-C port must support audio and video output. Please confirm whether your laptop’s USB-C port has this function.

The laptop’s USB C port supports audio and video output, but why is there no display when connected to an HDMI monitor?

Please try to disconnect the HUB from the laptop, shut down the laptop, press and hold the laptop’s power button for 40 seconds to release static electricity, and then reconnect the HUB for use.

Why can’t I set a higher resolution when connecting multiple HDMI monitors?

In Windows, when multiple HDMI monitors connect, the max resolution is 1080P @60Hz. If only one, the resolution depends on the notebook and monitor, and max up to 4K @30Hz. In MacOS, the max resolution is 4K @30Hz.

Why doesn’t HDMI output 4K?

Windows requires a separate HDMI monitor to be connected, and the monitor must support 4K resolution. MacOS supports two monitors displaying at a resolution of 4K30hz.

Why can’t I set up an extended screen when connecting multiple HDMI monitors to my Macbook?

Since MacOS itself does not support MST (Multi-Stream Transport) technology, it can only perform mirroring display when connecting multiple monitors. However, Windows and Linux systems support MST and can achieve multi-screen extended display.
